Study skills coaching
Some students understand the material and still lose points. They forget the assignment was due, start the project the night before, or study for four hours in a way that doesn't stick. That isn't about intelligence. It's executive function, the set of skills that turn knowing something into finishing it, and it keeps developing well into a student's twenties.
What coaching covers
- Planning and prioritizing, including breaking large assignments into steps with real dates attached.
- Time estimation, which most students underestimate badly and which is learnable.
- An organization system for materials, deadlines, and digital files that the student will actually maintain.
- Getting started, and closing the gap between intending to work and beginning.
- Study strategy, so studying holds instead of being reread and forgotten.
- Self-monitoring, including checking work and noticing early when an approach isn’t working.
How it's different from tutoring
A tutor teaches the chemistry. A coach makes sure your student knows the test is Thursday, started studying Monday, and studied in a way that works. Many families use both. It also moves the reminding out of the house, so weeknights aren't spent asking about the missing assignment.
Who it's for
Students from upper elementary through college. Students who are struggling, and students who are doing well but running on last-minute effort that stops working as coursework gets harder.
How families use it
Every family gets the study skills workshop as part of the employer benefit. It covers the core habits in a group session, and it's the place to start.
Families who want sustained work book 1:1 coaching at their company's discounted rate. That's individual, built around your student's own courses and deadlines.
Coaching is skill-building, not a clinical or diagnostic service. We do not diagnose or treat learning or attention conditions, and coaching is not a substitute for evaluation or care from a qualified professional.
Group workshops are included in the employer benefit. One-on-one tutoring and coaching run at discounted rates for families. Tell us about your company and we'll put together pricing and a pilot outline.
